Ava Oliver
In the end, it is not about the years in our life, but rather the life that was in our years, and Gobetty had more life in her 84 years than imaginable. In those years, Gobetty was able to give me and her whole family the most cherishable memories. Gobetty, I remember all of the times we would have movie marathons, paint nails, do hair and makeup, color flowers, and split our meals at dinner. And Gobetty I remember all of the discussions about your life in high school as a cheerleader when you met Bob, when you sang in the choir, stories of growing up with your siblings, your car wreck, your 54 years of marriage, and all of the love you had for your children, and 6 grandchildren. And Gobetty in the times we would talk you taught me more life lessons than I can thank you for like how short life is to get worked up in the small things, how important continuous praying can be for ourselves and our loved ones, and as Aunt Margaret would say a moment on my lips is forever on my hips. I know everyone can agree that you were the strongest, kindest, and most loving person this world has seen, and although you physically are not with us your spirit lies in the memories and stories we have all had. Thank you for being my best friend, role model, and grandmother. I hope you and Papa are eating heavens bread, also known as donuts, and dancing on the streets of gold.
