Betty Ruth Osborn's Obituary
OSBORN, BETTY RUTH CHARLES (“Betsy”) died on July 29th, 2014, one day prior to her 95th birthday. She was born July 30th, 1919 in Wichita, Kansas where she grew up and graduated from Wichita State University. In 1948, she moved to Dallas, Texas with her husband, Clifford Osborn. There she lived for nearly 65 years raising her family and involving herself in the community as an active member of Preston Hollow Presbyterian Church, a volunteer at Presbyterian Hospital, a member of Northwood Club, and a top realtor with Ebby Halliday Realtors. She loved her book club, her bridge clubs, bible groups, golfing, dancing, music, parties and family gatherings. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ellis and Margie Wilkinson Charles, and her sister, Joan Charles Pipher. She is survived by her three children, Diann Osborn Bennett, Celia Osborn Holmsten, and Robert “Buzz” Osborn; eight grandchildren, four step-grandchildren, and ten great- grandchildren (with three more due Christmas Day!) The family wishes to thank the caring staff at The Hallmark in Houston for their love and attention over the last two years. A graveside service will be held at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas on Saturday, August 9th, 2014 at 10:00 AM followed by a gathering of family and friends at the home of Samuel and Audrey Sequenzia, 8932 Lockhaven in Dallas.
