Betty Lynn Parrish's Obituary
Betty Lynn Blanchette met Don Parrish at Alice Keith Park in Beaumont, Texas. They were married on October 5, 1957. They later moved to Garland for Don’s career and settled to start a family.
Betty Lynn had three children: sons Ray and Rusty and daughter Patti. She was an extremely active stay-at-home mom and enjoyed volunteering for all the kids’ school and activities as she could. She was the organizer of all the family camping trips and loved the outdoors. As a couple, she and Don enjoyed traveling and eventually found a vacation home in Ruidoso that was enjoyed with many of their childhood friends.
But, it was the acquisition of a place on Cedar Creek Lake where Mom found her “happy” place. She then had a place to build memories with all the grandkids. With so many family trips and the lake house, she was on a course for “Mimi” greatness. It was there that we all have the best stories and holiday adventures.
Betty Lynn is survived by five grandchildren. They are Allison, Jared, Madison, Griffin and Parker Marie. She lived her life for each of these and was excited later to welcome Annika when she was able to attend Jared’s wedding in Denver in 2020. She recently was able to hold her first great grandbaby Scottie Dawn Parrish.
Betty Lynn leaves behind her sister, Larrie Dubois and brother Harris Blanchette. She had a special place in her heart for her daughter-in-law Lisa Parrish and son-in-law Steve Cadigan.
Her service will be held this Friday at Rejoice Lutheran Church on 532 S. Sandy Lake, Coppell TX 75019.
Betty Lynn always had a heart for helping others. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made in her name to:
