Betty Lee Patterson's Obituary
Patterson, Betty Lee born on January 10, 1926 in Stamford, Texas and passed away peacefully on Thursday, June 19, 2014, surrounded by family and friends. Betty is survived by her sisters, Peggy Osborne and Jan Haygood. Her daughters, Rebecca Marter of Sachse, Texas; Teresa David and her husband Aubrey of Garland, Texas; Peggy Patterson of Dallas, Texas and her son Ron Kruse of Dallas, Texas. She is also survived by her eight grandchildren, Rhonda Bennett, Richard Henning, Ronnie Kruse, Ryan Kruse, Rebecca Kruse, Richard Kruse, April Usrey, Talia Patterson Tapia and her five great-grandchildren, Andy, William and Ashley Bennett, Gavin and Tabitha, Ethan and Christopher, Michelle and Graham, Brooklynn and TJ, all of whom she loved with all her heart. Funny, compassionate, beautiful, intelligent, loving… She was all these things; and so much more. Her family gave her great joy. Betty Lee Patterson was born in Stamford, Texas on January 10, 1926. Betty enjoyed volunteering at the Garland Senior Citizen Center, dancing at the VFW and was involved with family, clubs, and was a loyal member of Orchard Hills Baptist Church. Betty worked at Sears in the accounting department for 30 years until retirement. She actively volunteered until the time of her death. She loved garage sales and could be seen browsing thrift stores for “good stuff”. Betty was blessed with excellent health all her life until the past year when her health declined rapidly. The family wishes to thank the doctors and staff of Garland Baylor Medical Center and Carol Stanton with The Community Hospice Services for their wonderful care during Betty’s last months. A memorial service will be held at Orchard Hills Baptist Church 3001 Saturn Road, Garland Texas at 1:00 PM on Saturday, June 21, 2014. Those wishing to send flowers may have them delivered to Restland in advance of the service. In lieu of flowers, donations in Betty’s memory may be made to Garland Senior Activity Center at 600 W Avenue A, Garland, Texas 75040.
