Betty Ann Price's Obituary
With hearts full of love and cherished memories, we celebrate the remarkable life of Betty Ann Price, a woman whose journey was a radiant testament to unwavering faith, boundless affection, and an extraordinary gift for nurturing all that surrounded her. Born on March 3, 1955, in Birmingham, AL, to IV Miles and her beloved grandmother Ethel Bell Williams, Betty Ann's path was illuminated by a profound spiritual awakening on January 30, 1977, a day she joyfully marked as her "spiritual birthday." Her early years saw her flourish within the Birmingham City System, leading to a distinguished career in administrative roles at Coca Cola Birmingham, before her entrepreneurial spirit blossomed through her successful carpet cleaning and packing companies.
Betty Ann possessed the rare and beautiful gift of bringing everything she touched to life, from the vibrant plants in her home to the spirits of the people and the places she enriched with her presence. Her generous heart consistently guided her to be a giver, especially to those she held dearest, truly embodying the essence of a Proverbs 31 woman — strong, virtuous, and dedicated. Despite life's inevitable challenges, she remained remarkably humble, steadfast in her devotion as a devout Christian. She celebrated her faith daily, always ready to offer prayers, words of encouragement, and scripture to anyone facing hardship, famously reminding us all, "The Best is Yet to Come!"
Betty Ann's profound legacy lives on through the countless lives she touched. She is survived by her devoted husband of 34 years, Joseph Diop (Charles Price). Her memory is cherished by her six beloved children: Lavone Fox (Emmanuel Gunn, Ericka Pearson), Pamela Gunn (Kristina Gunn, Fredarrius Gunn, William Davis, Kevonte, and Deontae Pelt), Maya Spratt (Mikaylah, Jaylyn Pipkins, Mekhidrick Jackson), Micah Spratt, Michelle Spratt (Jaden Riley, Durvatheheir Esquire II), and Ashley Price. Additionally, she leaves behind twelve grandchildren, twelve great-grandchildren, and a host of nieces, nephews, special neighbors, and friends.
Betty Ann was blessed with enduring sisterhood, cherishing over 40 years of friendship with her best friends, Barbara Forsythe and Linda Burns, who truly became family.
Betty Ann has now joined her beloved family who preceded her in death with the Lord: her mother IV Miles, grandmother Ethel Bell Williams, her siblings Billy Jo, LeRoy Miles, Leon "Butch" Robinson, Bobby Miles, her infant daughter April Price, and her grandson Jevonte "Big Poppa" Pelt.
