Betty Josephine Sharp's Obituary
Betty Josephine Cruise Sharp of Garland, Texas, and affectionately known as Mom, Mama, and G.G., a loving mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother, devoted woman of faith, and spectacular cook, passed away peacefully, surrounded by the love of her family on the 26th of October.
Betty was born in Cunningham, Texas, to the late Ben and Tommie Robison Cruise. She was the last surviving sibling in her family, preceded in death by her two sisters and three brothers, all of whom she cherished dearly.
She carried the warmth and strength of her Texas roots throughout her life, pouring all her love and energy into raising her family.
A fierce matriarch, Betty's life was defined by her devotion to her five children and her countless grandchildren and great-grandchildren, who were her greatest pride and joy. She fostered a deep and abiding faith, holding a strong love for the Lord, and was a dedicated member of her church community at the Tabernacle of Praise for many years. Betty believed in the power of prayer and the strength of family, taking immense pride in every milestone achieved by her descendants.
She was the glue that held the many generations together, and the central switchboard for all family news. Her updates were the rhythm of the family, keeping everyone in sync.
She was the family's living historian and tireless curator of connections, lovingly ensuring that every member, near and far, was apprised of life's happenings—from the smallest joys to the greatest milestones.
Her kitchen was the heart of her home, filled with warmth and the aroma of amazing food. Every holiday and family gathering was centered around her cooking, which was always prepared with generous love. She possessed a spirited personality and a wonderfully unique passion for professional wrestling, enjoying the excitement and drama with enthusiasm.
Betty was preceded in death by her loving parents, Ben and Tommie Cruise, her ex-husband Gordon Sharp and three of her children: David Sharp, Gary Sharp, and Nita Sharp, her grandson Christoper Sharp and her great-great granddaughter Nahriya Ryals.
She is lovingly survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Ronnie and Allyson Sharp of Sunnyvale, Texas; her daughter, Kathy Sharp of Garland, Texas; and a large, cherished legacy including numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, in-laws, nephews, nieces, and cousins.
She leaves behind a family grateful for her love, her faith, and the countless, delicious memories she created
