Betty Jean Shipman's Obituary
Betty Jean Shipman passed away March 14, 2016. She was born April 22, 1929 in Dallas, Texas to Davis and Bertie Geer Giles. After spending her childhood through high school in Westminster, Texas, she moved to Dallas, where she met and married the love of her life, Don, and spent the next 63 years as a loving wife, mother and friend as her life touched the lives of many others from their home in Richardson. She was preceded in death by her parents, her sister Gladys King, and brothers Maurice Ray and Jerry Hamilton Giles. Betty is survived by her husband Don, sister, Shirley Moore (Jim), sons Ray (Kathy) and Richard (Mary), daughter Donna Reid (Rob), and 10 grandchildren. Services for Betty Shipman will be held on Friday, March 18, 2016 at 3:00 PM in The Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home with a visitation one hour prior to the service. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
