Betty Somers Britton's Obituary
Betty Ruth Somers Britton, age 83, went to be with her lord on Sunday December 20, 2015, at Medical City of Dallas. She was born August 3, 1932 in Hope, Arkansas to William Thomas and Lila (Gill) Somers. Betty was 1950 graduate of Hope High School. After graduating from high school, she attended Texas Tech University where she met her husband. On May 28, 1952, she married Royce Jerome Britton. Together they had two sons Wesley Alan and David Lee, and one daughter Lori Marie. The Britton family was active in church activities and helping the Home Missions programs of the Southern Baptist Convention. They were active members of the First Baptist Church of Richardson. Betty was always the light of any room, loved by all who met her, and a devoted to her family. Betty is survived by her son Wesley Alan and wife Betty Jane, and daughter Lori Marie (Britton) Levack and husband Edward Alan Levack. She is also survived by her sister Helen (Somers) Ewing of Louisiana, as well as many nieces and nephews. Betty is preceded in death by her son David Lee, and her husband Royce Jerome. Family, friends, and others whose lives Betty touched are invited to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park at 11:00 am on Saturday, December 26, 2015 at the Memorial Chapel with visitation one hour prior to the service in the chapel. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
