Betty Martin Taylor's Obituary
Betty Martin was born on June21, 1941 in Omaha, Texas to her parents Mary and Clurin Martin. She had two brothers Billy and Robert Martin.
She attended school in Omaha and graduated from Paul Pewitt High Scholl as valedictorian of her class. Betty attended S.M.U. where she received a B.B.A. degree graduating with High Honors. She met Max Taylor at S.M.U. and they were married in August 1962. Three children were born to the couple: Jeffrey, Stephen, and Amy. Betty and Max would have celebrated their 60th wedding anniversary in August of this year.
After all three of the children were in school, Betty worked in administrative offices of schools in Richardson Independent School District. She also worked in the accounting office of Southern Methodist University.
Betty had a keen love for animals, especially dogs and cats. She avidly took care of the family’s pets as well as any stray animals that appeared in the neighborhood.
The family are members of Spring Valley United Methodist Church in Dallas where the children attended preschool from an early age.
Betty’s health had deteriorated the last few years, and she was in skilled nursing at the Reserve in Richardson. The staff loved her and provided excellent care. They were impressed with her wonderful attitude toward them. Betty passed away on June 3, 2022 and will be deeply missed by her family.
She is survived by her husband Max and son Jeffrey Taylor; brother Robert Martin; sister-in-law Betty Martin; three grandchildren Andrew, Ashley and Adam Staton; daughter-in-law Debbie Taylor; son-in-law Rocky Staton; several nephews and one niece.
At this time, funeral services for Mrs. Betty Jo Taylor are scheduled on Tuesday, June 14, 2022 at 10:00am in the Wildwood Chapel of Restland Funeral Home.
