Betty Joan Thompson's Obituary
On Monday, May 16, 2016, Betty Joan Thompson passed away quietly at the age of 83 in Irving, Texas with her family beside her. Betty was born in Stamford, Texas on January 10, 1933 to Tressie Faye and Arthur Baxter Sauls. Betty received her bachelor’s degree in Business Administration later in life from California State University – Dominguez Hills. She was a Financial Analyst at Hughes Aircraft for many years and eventually retired from Boeing/Raytheon. She will be remembered for her love of knitting socks and sharing them with everyone. If you ever wear Betty’s socks, your feet are never cold. She will be most remembered for her smile. Betty always had a contagious smile on her face. She was loving, caring and never met a stranger. Betty is survived by her three children; daughter Trisha Schwennsen and husband Bill of Fort Worth, Texas; daughter Beverly Rager and Kirk Bouknight of Fate, Texas; son, Scott Thompson and wife Susie of Costa Mesa, California, along with her grandchildren Chrissy Schwennsen, Billy Schwennsen, Cody Rager and wife Eleana, Tyler Rager, Caden Thompson, and her 5 day old great grandchild Ryder Rager. Private family memorial was held Thursday, May 19, 2016 at Restland Funeral Home in Dallas, Texas.
