Betty Jo Tucker's Obituary
Betty Jo Carter Tucker was born on December 7, 1928 in Fort Worth, TX. She passed on into the arms of Jesus on October 8, 2022. Betty was raised by her parents, Marvin and Alma Carter. She married Glenn in 1950 and they were blessed with raising three (surviving) daughters - Linda, Karen, and Jan. Betty loved being a home-maker during their childhoods. After years working as an office manager for a doctor, Betty began her retirement days by spending time with her daughters and grandkids, Kerri and Carter. She also enjoyed their east Texas property, lovingly called “Rocky Top”. Later, she split her time between Dallas and Creede, Colorado. Whistling was Betty's favorite pastime. Though she was often teased by her family for not being able to carry a tune, it never interfered with her love of music or her singing favorite songs out loud. Silly vintage jingles, Hank Williams, and gospel hymns were some of her favorites. Throughout her life she was an avid reader, preferring historical novels and biographies. A committed Christian, she was always involved in her church communities and shared her joy and peace wherever she went. She also enjoyed hiking, Jazzercise, watching musical theater, gardening, and being part of book clubs and card game groups. She was an incredible conversationalist and a "social butterfly". Betty especially loved to have family over to the house on Sunday afternoons or welcoming people to her home in the mountains. Betty was laid to rest next to her late husband, Glenn, at Restland in Dallas. Her family held a private graveside service and Celebration of Life. In lieu of flowers, please consider Memorial donations to the Creede Ladies Aid Society: P.O. Box 126 Creede, CO 81130.
