Betty Jayne Willis 's Obituary
Betty Jayne Willis, 77, of Rowlett, Texas passed away on Wednesday, February 12, 2020, in Rowlett, Texas of Alzheimer’s. She was born on Wednesday, November 25 1942, to her loving and thoughtful parents, Demas and Dillena Birdwell in Grand Prairie, Texas. Betty married Byron Willis on March 18, 1982 in Garland, Texas. She was a Teacher in Garland ISD and a Cosmetologist. She was a member of Garland Teachers Association. She was a pianist for her local church at Monica Park Christian Church, as well as a passionate Christian. She loved to play games, write calligraphy, poetry and songs. She was a passionate bargain shopper and an antique shopper. Betty was a fashionista, enjoyed sewing and was a Bluebell ice cream fanatic, and she was the founder of the Birdwell family reunions. She will be sincerely missed by her loving family, her devoted friends and all the wonderful individuals who knew and loved her.
Betty is survived by her spouse, Byron Willis of Rowlett, Texas, her daughters, Darla Pollard of Menard, Texas, and Adonya Stevens of Corpus Christi, Texas, her sons, Dale Stevens of McKinney, Texas, Michael Stevens of Garland, Texas, Sean Stevens of Phoenix, Arizona, Brad Willis of Corinth, Texas and Scott Willis of Denton, Texas, her brothers, Tommy Birdwell, Sammy Birdwell, and Dan Birdwell, thirteen grandchildren and 3 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her brothers, Lester, Grady and Jack Birdwell.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, February 15, 2020 from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. Monica Park Christian Church. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, February 15, 2020 at Monica Park Christian Church, located at 2600 Broadway Blvd., Garland, Texas 75041
