Byron Burr Millsap
So, I was wanting to send a Christmas card to Bev. Today's date is December 17, 2022. I Googled him and now see that he has passed all these 12 years. That makes me very sad. Bev was my boss at the US Naval Ship Repair Facility, Subic Bay, Philippines. That was during the years 1978 through 1980. There was so much that I learned from Bev. He was a good man. Honest, ethical, hard working, and a fantastic role model. I suppose the most valuable thing I learned from Bev was the importance of attending to the smallest details of a task, and to never quit until all the tasks were done. He taught me that through example. I don't think he knew he was teaching me at the time, but he certainly was. I wrote an article about that years later as an anonymous tribute to him. I though I missed him up to now. . . now I miss him even more. --Byron Burr Millsap, CDR, SC, USNR-Ret.
