Mrs. Beverly Presley's Obituary
PRESLEY, BEVERLY SHARYER, of Sunnyvale, TX was born in Bonham, TX on October 9th, 1946. She passed away on December 6th, 2006 at Presbyterian Hospital in Dallas, TX. She fought a courageous battle with cancer. She was preceded in death by her father, Roy Thomas Sharyer and her first grandchild, Isabela Alyse Melendez. She is survived by her mother, Mildred Sharyer; husband of 38 years, Ray Presley; daughter, Angela Melendez; son, Ryan; granddaughter, Analyse Melendez; 4 aunts; 1 uncle; several nieces, nephews & cousins; 3 sisters-in-law; and 1 brother-in-law. She taught special education in Dallas ISD for 5 years. She then started tutoring children with learning disabilities in her home. The tutoring grew to where she had to move it to a larger facility, the Florence Historical Landmark Home in Mesquite, TX. Due to the success of the tutoring program, she had a vision of starting a private school for children with special learning needs. In August 1983, she began Meadowview School at the Florence Ranch Home with 15 students and 3 faculty members. In 3 years it grew to where she needed a larger facility. In August 1986 she moved the school to 2419 Franklin, Mesquite, TX where it is still in operation today. Her hope and prayer is that the school will continue to provide excellent service to children for many, many years to come. She is also survived by the loving, caring, family-like staff at Meadowview School, the Kitchen Class of Saturn Road Church of Christ; and her bunco group. Family will receive friends Friday, December 8th from 6-8 PM at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be held Saturday, December 9th at 10:00 AM at Saturn Road Church of Christ in Garland, TX. Interment will be at Restland Memorial Park immediately after service. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the scholarship fund at Meadowview School, 2419 Franklin, Mesquite, TX 75150.
