Beverly A. Traylor's Obituary
Beverly left this earth to be with her Savior on Tuesday, May 10, 2016 surrounded by her adoring and loving family. Bev was born to Max and Eunice Roberts Harper in Red Oak, Texas, on September 13, 1932. She attended schools in Ellis County before graduating with high honors from Ennis High School. Upon graduation, Beverly attended Southern Methodist University, where she met and later married her loving husband, Melvin R. Traylor. Together, they spent fifty-nine years happily raising their four children, and thoroughly enjoying their ten grandchildren. While Mel never had the chance to enjoy their 3 great grand-daughters, Beverly did. Beverly will be well remembered as the consummate housewife, the backbone of the family, organizing family functions and attending her children’s events. And despite being diabetic for most of her life, she was also an avid cook- reading, testing, and updating her numerous recipes. She was also a fan of the Mustangs, Cowboys, Mavericks, Rangers…and all of her children’s and grandchildren’s school teams. Bev was everything you looked for in a daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother and friend: loyal, dedicated, determined, creative, and generous. Mel and Beverly had been active members of Highland Oaks Church of Christ since 1998. Beverly is preceded in death by her parents, her loving husband Mel, as well as her youngest son, Robert Timothy Traylor. She is survived by her loving children, grandchildren, and great grandchildren; Vicki Traylor Bayless, Lynda Traylor Buckley and husband John, Melvin Ray Traylor, Jr. and wife Kathy, and Wendy Hall Traylor and husband Jim Fontaine. Grandchildren and great grandchildren are Brianna Wright Guay, husband Jason, daughter Estee; Natalie Wright Anderson, husband Brent, daughter Zoe; Caitlyn Buckley Banowsky, husband David, daughter Evie; Travis Buckley; Kelsey Buckley; Zachary Traylor; Jacob Traylor; Matthew Traylor; Kevin Traylor; and Lisa Traylor. Visitation will be from 10:00-10:45AM on Saturday, May 14th at Highland Oaks Church of Christ with services immediately following. Interment will be in the Garden of Devotion, Restland Memorial Park, Dallas, Texas. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a donation to Highland Oaks Church of Christ Caring and Sharing Fund. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, TX 75243.
