Bill Norman Boyer's Obituary
BOYER, BILL NORMAN, 87, of Dallas, TX, passed away January 13, 2014, surrounded by his loving family. Bill was born to Dr. Herbert L. Boyer and Lois Wofford Boyer on December 13, 1926 in Hartman, AR. As a child, he moved with his family to Ft. Towson, OK. After graduating from Ft. Towson High School, he entered the United States Army on June 6, 1945 and was stationed in Germany during WWII. After returning home, he married his high school sweetheart, Mary “June” Wilson, and they moved to Norman, OK, where he attended The University of Oklahoma earning a Bachelor of Science degree in Zoology with a minor in History. Bill and June then moved to Oklahoma City, OK, where he began a long career with Lee Way Motor Freight Line beginning as a dispatcher and ending his career in Dallas, TX, as a terminal manager. Bill enjoyed his family and friends, classical music, playing the piano, reading the history of WWII, bowling, hunting, and his beloved animals, Trixie and Jenny. He is preceded in death by his parents and three older brothers, two of whom died in childhood, and Dr. Harold Boyer of Las Vegas, NV. He is survived by his wife, June, of 65 years, daughters Sheryl Shue (Gary Shue), Dr. Deborah Boyer (J.D. Trotter), grandchildren Brandon Ferguson (April Ferguson), Olivia Trotter, Amelia Trotter, step-grandchildren Bobby and Jamie Shue, and great grandchildren, Ansley and Aiden Ferguson. Family will receive friends from 6:00-8:00 PM, Friday, January 17, 2014 at Restland Funeral Home. Services will be held 2:30 PM, Saturday, January 18, 2014 at Restland Memorial Chapel.
