Bill Johnson's Obituary
Bill Johnson of Dallas, Texas, went to be with the Lord on November 19, 2025.
Bill Johnson was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, brother, and man of deep Christian faith.
Bill was born in Little Rock, Arkansas to Jack and Cora Johnson on July 20, 1930. He was the fourth of five brothers. Bill loved baseball and played many games growing up with his brother Joe. Bill also proudly served his country in the United States Marine Corps from 1946 to 1948. On July 1, 1950, Bill married his beloved wife, Mary. They had been married for 67 years when Mary passed away in 2017.
Bill’s greatest joy in life was his family. He was the proud father of four children: Sherry Cadenhead of Lantana, Texas, Judy Keierleber of Springfield, Tennessee, Bill Johnson, Jr. of Plano, TX and Sandra Kay Johnson, who preceded him in death. Bill, who was known lovingly as Granddad, was also blessed with seven grandchildren and thirteen great-grandchildren, each a source of tremendous joy in his life. He was a steady, loving presence whose stories, humor, and wisdom shaped generations.
Bill was a longtime member and deacon of First Baptist Church of Dallas. He formed lasting friendships and served faithfully for many years in the deaf ministry at Silent Friends Chapel.
In 1977, Bill founded Dallas Aerial Surveys, Inc., which grew into a respected aerial mapping firm known throughout Texas. While he valued his work, Bill’s greatest legacy remains the lives he touched, the people he mentored, and the love he shared so generously.
Bill will be remembered for his humility, faith, loyalty, and unwavering devotion to family and friends. His influence lives on in the hearts of all who knew and loved him.
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Henceforth there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will award to me on that day, and not only to me but also to all who have loved his appearing. (2 Timothy 4:7-8)
