Billie Jean Caldwell's Obituary
Caldwell, Billie Jean 82, an exceptional woman with a contagious smile passed away at home on December 28, 2008 after a long illness. Billie was born on April 6, 1926 in Morrillton, Arkansas. She was raised in Morrillton, Arkansas and graduated from Morrillton High School in 1944 where she was voted Most Outstanding student of her class. She received her nursing degree from Baptist State Hospital in 1947 and served as an ensign in the Navy. She later went on to receive her Nurse Anesthesist degree from Cincinnati General in 1968. Billie worked in several hospitals throughout the metro area including Medical City, Plano, Richardson, and Mesquite. She loved life and left behind a legacy of laughter and joy to everyone she knew or even met. She was preceded in death by her parents Dr. J.H. and Minnie Ione Cole and several brothers and sisters. She is survived by her 3 daughters Janis and husband Dale Giger of Wylie, Texas, Jeannie Caldwell of Dallas, Texas, Cheryl Jo Niell and husband David of Louisville, Colorado, her niece Sissy and husband David Stone of Bradenton, Florida. Her grandchildren which were the light of her life: Brian, Jessica, Cole, Charlie, Anna, Megan, Ally, and Julianna, and great grandson Christian. She is also survived by her companion of many years Sammie Lee Smith and life long friend O.H. Wood. Visitation will be held on December 30, 2008, 4:00-6:00 p.m. at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be held 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2008 at Restland Memorial Chapel.
