Billie Joe Creel's Obituary
He was born in Dallas, TX on September 29, 1930 to parents, John and Bennie Creel who preceded him in death. He is survived by his beloved wife of 57 years, Mary Jean Cochran Creel. He is also survived by his three children; Marianne Congas and husband, Steve; William Len Creel and wife, Janet; Joe Daniel Creel and wife, Donna, plus 13 grand children and several nieces and nephews. He worked for the Dallas Morning News for 42 years and retired in 1993. He served in the Army as a Corporal for 2 years during the Korean Conflict. He also was a committed Christian and belonged to the Windsor Park Baptist Church in De Soto. His brother, Johnny Creel, also preceded him in death. As the poet said, ‘Life must go on though good men die. Life must go on; I forget just why.’ Service will be held at the Windsor Park Baptist Church in De Soto on Monday, June 30, 2008 at 11:00 am., with interment following at Restland Memorial Park in Dallas.
