Billie Joe Epley Sr.'s Obituary
EPLEY, SR., BILLIE JOE Born February 2, 1930, died August 11, 2008 at home in Rockwall, Texas. He married Nelma Lovelace Epley on February 10, 1962. Joe graduated from Richardson High School in 1948 and proudly served our country as a radio technician in the Navy during the Korean War. Joe worked as a flight instructor for Aerosmith Corp. managing airports in Sherman, Denton and Gainesville, Texas from 1960 to 1971. He owned and operated The Alamo Food Mart for 25 years and bred and showed Peruvian Paso Horses for 14 years. He is preceded in death by son, Billie Joe Epley, Jr.; Mother, Lottie Smith Epley; Father, Roy Epley and brother, Bobby Epley. He is survived by wife, Nelma; daughter, Cynthia Ann Schrock; like a son, Donald Bruce; grandsons, Charlie Dupree, Chad Dupree, wife, Kay; granddaughter, Michelle Glover and husband, Casey; three great grandchildren. Uncle Joe was loved and survived by numerous nieces and nephews. Visitation will be 6:00-8:00 PM, Thursday, August 14, 2008 at Restland Funeral Home. Service will be held 10:00 AM, Friday, August 15, 2008 at Restland Memorial Chapel. In lieu of flowers the family request donations to Wounded Warriors or the Fisher House Foundation.
