Mrs. Billie Burnadine Jeffrey's Obituary
JEFFREY, BILLIE BURNADINE Beloved wife of Thomas James Jeffrey, of Richardson, Texas. Born on April 3, 1918 to Charles and Lula McElvaney, in Denison, Texas, passed away May 15, 2007. She is survived by daughters Pati Jeffrey, Janice McCune and husband Ralph of Dallas, Judith Bowen and husband David of Austin, and son, Dr. Thomas E. Jeffrey and wife Lisa of Allen; five grandchildren, Thomas B.Jeffrey and wife Suzette, Joel McCune, Christi Wiehoff and husband Bryan, Rhett Bowen and Katie Bowen; great-grandchildren Tiffany, Ashley, T.J., Jamie, Bridgette, Brooke, Hayley and Holden. Billie and Tom met at the ice-skating rink at Fair Park in December, 1941, and it was love at first sight, on Tom’s part. They were married in Chicago, Illinois on September 26, 1942, where Tom was an Aviation Cadet in the U.S.A.A.F. and was studying meteorology at the University of Chicago. After receiving his commission as a 2nd Lt., Tom and Billie returned to Texas for a short while until Tom received orders to report for duty in the C.B.I. theater. After returning from overseas in early 1946 Tom and Billie followed the oil fields from Arkansas to Oklahoma, finally settling in Richardson in 1954. Billie was extremely out-going, had a multitude of friends, and never met a stranger. Beloved by all, with a great sense of humor and a love for life, Billie was always the life of the party up until the moment she was stricken by a fatal stroke. She never knew what hit her, did not suffer, and remained in an unconscious state until her death. Funeral services will be held at the Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home on Greenville Ave. in Richardson, on Saturday, May 19 at 1:00 p.m. The officiant will be the Rev. Canon Ralph McCune.
