Billie Cherokee Lennox's Obituary
Billie Cherokee Singleton Lennox, age 89, left this earth on October 26, 2023 to be with our Lord and Savior. She was born on November 24, 1933 to Porter Singleton and Beulah “Leah” Singleton (nee’ Young). Billie grew up in the small community of Pinhook Corner, Oklahoma near the city of Vian.
She left Pinhook Corner, OK to live in Dallas during her early high school years and became a graduate of Crozier Tech. She married the love of her life, Bobby Lennox, on November 26, 1952 two days after her 18th birthday. They went on to celebrate 65 years of marriage together coming to be known as Bob and Bill to their many friends and family. They had 3 children, Alan, Glenda and Douglas in almost 3 years time. She was a wonderful and loving stay at home mom until her children were in junior high school. Active in all her children’s sports and many extra curricular activities. She and her husband were long time and very active members of Shiloh Rd Missionary Baptist Church where all of them were baptized on the same Sunday.
She worked a few years for Liberty Mutual Insurance before moving on to work and retire not once but twice from Texas Instruments, Inc. in Dallas.
She is survived by a son Alan (Diana) Lennox and a daughter Glenda (Jerry) Glomski, sister Jean Dillon and nephew Forrest Dillon, Grandchildren: Nathan Lennox(Abigail), Cody Lennox (Megan), Laura Saylor (Andrew) and Kelli Chavez (Alex).
Great grandchildren: Breanna and Bailee Chavez, Isabelle Saylor, Hayden Lennox, Avery Lennox, Estella Lennox, Arabelle Lennox, Iris Lennox and Baby Boy Lennox expected January 2024.
She is pre-deceased by her husband Bobby Lennox, a son Douglas Lennox, a brother Glenn Locust and wife Jean Locust, grandson Justin Leverick, son in law Randy Leverick, brother in law Lloyd Dillon and great granddaughter Ember Celeste Lennox.
Words cannot express how much she will be missed by so many.
In lieu of flowers she would have liked that you donate to your favorite charity in her memory. Three of her favorites were Baptist Men of Texas, St. Jude’s, and Samaritans Purse.
