Billie Jo Mislock's Obituary
Billie Jo Stover Mislock, age 93 of Kennett Square, PA., died Saturday January 12, 2013 at Brandywine Senior Living at Longwood. She was the wife of the late Col Raymond A. Mislock who died in 1984 and with whom she shared 39 years of marriage. Born in Whitesboro Texas, she was a daughter of the late William A. and Mary Jo Kelsay Stover. She remained a Texan in her heart even after moving to Kennett Square, Pa to be closer to family in her “golden years”. Her sweet southern drawl, belief in the good in everyone, steadfast faith in God and deep love of family and many friends were the hallmarks of a life she called “blessed”. A lifelong Dallas Cowboy fan, she loved all Dallas sports teams, but her favorite past time was always her family. At Brandywine Senior Living she enjoyed playing bridge, was an avid bingo player and continued to pray daily for a long list of family members and friends. Billie Jo was a member of the Episcopal Church of the Advent in Kennett Square and previously a 50-year member of St. John’s Episcopal Church in Dallas Texas. She is survived by her son, Raymond A. Mislock Jr. and his wife Peggy of Cochranville, PA; 3 grandsons, Michael, Steven (Kim), and Timothy; four great grandchildren, Madelyn, Bennett, James, and Charlotte; her beloved niece Martha Murray and Martha’s children Mitch and Vickie; the mother of her grandchildren Mary K Friend; niece Jean Kay Erwin and nephew, Hugh Jefferson. She was predeceased by four brothers and 3 sisters. A funeral service will be held 12:30PM Saturday January 19, 2013 at the Episcopal Church of the Advent 401 N Union St. Kennett Square, PA 19348. An additional memorial service will occur 3PM Wednesday January 23, 2013 at the Wildwood Chapel of Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery, 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, Texas, 75234. Interment will follow in the adjoining Cemetery. Contributions in her memory may be made to the American Cancer Society 1626 Locust St. Philadelphia, PA 19103 or to the Episcopal Church of the Advent 201 Crestline Drive Kennett Square, PA 19348.
