Billie Beaird Mock's Obituary
Billie Beaird Mock, 89, of Princeton, Texas, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on January 20, 2025. She was born in Brownwood, Texas, on October 15, 1935, to William Lewis Beaird and Addie Fondine (Spurlock) Beaird. She grew up in Austin, Texas, and graduated from Austin High School in 1953. Billie was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church in Austin, where she met the love of her life, Alfred Mock, who was stationed at Bergstrom Air Force Base. They married on May 26, 1956, and were blessed with 60 years of marriage.
Billie loved football and Dr. Pepper. Growing up in Austin, she became an avid fan of the Texas Longhorns. Not a Saturday went by during football season that she wasn’t sitting in front of the television cheering on her favorite team. On Sundays, you could find her cheering on her other favorite team, the Dallas Cowboys. And on the table next to her as she cheered on her teams was a tall glass of Dr. Pepper. Even when her doctor told her to stop drinking her favorite soda and drink water instead, she said “Nope. I’m not giving up my Dr. Pepper.”
More than her love of football and Dr. Pepper was Billie’s love for her family. They were the most important part of her life. She took great pride in her children and even more in her grandchildren. Being “Meemaw” was her greatest joy. She loved family get-togethers and found any excuse to have them. And, she made sure this love and importance of family was passed on to her children and grandchildren.
Billie was preceded in death by her husband, Alfred Mock; daughter, Angela Mock; parents, Lewis and Fondine Beaird; and sister, Carolyn Wilson.
She is survived by her son, Tim Mock and wife, Marla, of Farmersville, Texas; daughter Lisa Chavis and husband, Darryl, of Princeton, Texas; son Kevin Mock and wife, Gina, of Celina, Texas; grandchildren Tim Mock, Jr., Clint Mock, Jake Mock, Melissa Chavis, Kaitlyn Chavis, Dylan Mock, Alex Mock and Hailey Mock, as well as several nieces and nephews.
A funeral service for Billie will be held on Friday, January 31, 10:30 am. at Restland Memorial Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to Freedom Hospice, www.freedom-hospice.com.
