Billy Joe Campbell, beloved father, grandfather, brother, uncle, and friend, passed away on May 22, 2024
in Dallas, TX. He was born in Commerce, TX on November 22, 1940, to Alvis Lee Campbell and Lucille Kirk Campbell. He lived his life in Dallas, TX, graduating from Crozier Technical High School. He was smart, hardworking, and kind. Billy Joe was a masterful story-teller with a sharp sense of humor. He built
successful businesses and loved his work and his work family.
Billy Joe married the love of his life, Carol Ann Rush, on February 18, 1961. They were deeply devoted to
each other and enjoyed 58 wonderful years together.
Billy Joe was preceded in death by his beloved wife; his parents; his brothers, David Campbell, Sr and
Ronald Lee Campbell; and his brother-in-law, Thomas Rush.
He is survived by his children, Laura Campbell Vest, Gregg Campbell, and Donna Campbell (Mekki
Ibnoueddas); his cherished grandsons, Matthew Vest and Andrew Vest; brothers, Leon Campbell (Jean)
and Wayne Campbell; brother-in-law Charles Rush (Rosalind); sister-in-law Cherie Rush Johnson (Leland);
nephew Tommy Rush; and many nieces, nephews, business associates, and friends.
Billy Joe treasured his family above all. He will be deeply missed.
