Billy Jack Cockerham's Obituary
Billy Jack Cockerham, 84 Billy went to be with the Lord on May 17, 2017. Billy Jack Cockerham was born on July 10, 1932 in Wills Point, Texas, a son of the late Johnnie Cooper Edwards and Claude Cockerham. He attended Canton High School and graduated in 1950. Following High School he moved to the Dallas area where he worked more than 40 years in the lumber business. After retirement, he worked part-time for DFW airport rental car companies. Billy is survived by his wife Linda; two sons, Billy Cockerham and Freddy Cockerham; two daughters, Sue Huggins and Jennifer Smith; two brothers, Buster Edwards and Ted Edwards; a sister, Jean Thompson; eight grandchildren, Joe Castillo, Katrina Johnson, Billy Cockerham, Jr., Freddy Cockerham, Jr., Stephanie Blalock, Lacie Huggins, Merrick Smith and Dalton Smith; ten great-grandchildren and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was predeceased by a brother, Joe Edwards and a son, Jeffrey Cockerham. The relatives and friends of Billy are invited to attend the funeral service in the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home and Cemetery on Friday, May 19, 2017 at 12:30 p.m., 13005 Greenville Avenue, Dallas, Texas 75243. The burial will follow at the Court of Holy Family, Restland Memorial Park. Visitation will be Thursday evening, May 18, 2017, at Restland Funeral Home between 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
