Mr. Billy Charles Davidson's Obituary
Billy Charles Davidson, was born February 1st, 1929, to John Earl and Lillie Mae Davidson in
Graham, TX, and passed away November 3rd, 2023, in Plano, TX. He grew up in Freer, TX, and
graduated high school there in 1947. He graduated Texas A&I University in Kingville, TX, in
1952, married the love of his life, Mary Sue Fry, in 1953, and began his teaching career at
Ysleta HS in El Paso, TX. Throughout the years he switched between teaching and various
business endeavors. He spent many years teaching industrial arts, drafting, mechanical
drawing, and photography at high schools in Odessa, TX, Plano, TX, and Garland, TX. When he
wasn’t teaching, he opened photography studios in Midland and Kingsville, TX, as well as a
barbecue franchise, and a drafting/blueprint business in the north Dallas area. During these
years he attained his master’s degree in education at North Texas State University, as well.
Upon retirement, he built his own house, with his sons, from the ground up in Dublin, TX,
before moving to Sun City, TX, in 2009, enjoying the many friends he met there. He moved to
Plano in 2020.
He was a devoted father and husband, always involved and interested in family activities and
vacations. His hobbies included fishing, hunting, and automobile racing. He is survived by his
brother, Edward Lee “Bud” Davidson and wife, Wanda, and his children, Lynda Davidson of
Plano, Jon Davidson of Granbury, and Thomas Davidson of Garland. A memorial service will be
held on Saturday, December 2nd, at 3pm, at the Wildwood Chapel, located in Restland
Cemetery in Dallas, TX. The family would like to thank Arbor Hills Memory Care and Bright Star
Hospice for their gentle and excellent care.
