Billy Jack Etheredge's Obituary
Billy Jack Etheredge met Jesus and his earthly family on Sunday, December 24, 2023, at the age of 88. He leaves behind his two granddaughters, Kasey Hampton (husband-Dustin Hund); Shannon Buck (husband-Ryan Buck); son-in-law Billy Don Hampton. He is preceded in death by his parents, Jack and Lois Etheredge; wife, Burnell Etheredge; daughter, Jackie Susan Etheredge Hampton; son, Billy Greg Etheredge.
Billy Jack graduated from Texas Tech University with a degree in Petroleum Engineering. He went on to work for Texaco Oil Industries until he retired to spend his days doing what he enjoyed most: being with his family, fly fishing, golfing, and keeping up with everything Texas Tech.
What he truly loved most was his wife of 69 years, Burnell Etheredge. They began their lives as high school sweethearts in Eldorado, TX and went on to get married and have two children. After he retired, they moved from Richardson, TX and began splitting their time between their beloved cabin in South Fork, CO and home in Granbury, TX. They made their last move to Raider Ranch in Lubbock, TX to be closer to their daughter and her family, where Bill spent his last remaining years going to Tech basketball games, golfing at the Rawls Course and continuing to fly fish in Colorado with his son-in-law and grandsons-in-law whenever he could.
Services for Bill will be held Graveside at Restland Memorial Park on Tuesday, January 2 at 9:30 am.
