Bill Etter opened his home in Richardson to Bible studies for young folks who knew his kids growing up- I stayed with the Lord as a result of those get togethers. He was always positive……kind of a Zig Ziglar to the conservative churches of Christ in the Dallas area. Soldiered thru life with dignity. May his kids be strengthened in the good memories and let God work out the future.
My father was the greatest! He was the most faithful to the Lord of any man I have ever known. I want to thank you Dad, and most of all thank you Lord for giving me such a father. He was loving, kind and humorous in so many ways. It hurt him to see anyone in need. When we were in Maui, he gave a homeless man our picnic lunch and tried to give him $20. The man said, "No, thank you, I don't need that. I have Hawaii unemployment. Thank you though!" Dad was always full of encouragement for me and my siblings and he will be forever loved! I love you, Dad, and I will see you again if I am faithful to the Lord. Thank you! Your loving son, David

Where do you begin? This man was always ready to be of help to those in need. He loved people and pretty much knew everyone in the DFW area and all the way up to Wichita Falls. My mama thought he "hung the moon" and when her mind and memories had faded, the one person, the one name she remembered was Bill Etter. He loved his kids, grands and great grands. Above all he loved his Lord. He was always there for me ready to lend a helping hand. I called him my "second daddy" since I had lost mine when I was 12. Bill will be so missed.
We will always remember Uncle Bill for his friendliness and hospitality. He never met anyone without a smile and a warm greeting. He was a man of great faith who did what he could to inspire others to share in that faith. We have so many great memories of family gatherings over the many years he lived in the Dallas area.
