Billy Joe Miller's Obituary
Bill J. Miller, age 91, passed away on Wednesday, November 17, 2021, in Plano, Texas. He was born to J. D. and Susie (Woolverton) Miller on Saturday, July 19, 1930, in Waxahachie, Texas.
He married M. LaNelle Traylor on January 24, 1953, in Dallas, Texas. They were married for 64 years.
Bill was preceded in death by his parents, J. D. and Susie Miller; his wife, LaNelle Miller; and son-in-law, Paul Allman.
He served in the U. S. Navy, 1948-1952.
Bill earned a bachelor’s degree and a master’s degree from Southern Methodist University in Dallas and was an electrical/electronics engineer until his retirement.
He enjoyed sailing on White Rock Lake in Dallas and was a member of the Rebel Fleet and the Corinthian Sailing Club.
Bill was a deacon at Calvary Baptist Church in Oak Cliff and Lakeside Baptist Church of Dallas for many years.
He will be remembered for his faith in the Lord, his dedication to his church and family and his willingness to help others.
Bill is survived by his son and daughter-in-law, Michael and Patricia Miller; son and daughter-in-law, Brad and Janice Miller; daughter, Terry Allman; 7 grandchildren; and 9 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service is scheduled for 2:00 pm December 14, 2021, at Wildwood Chapel, Restland, Dallas, Texas.
