Billy L O'Neal Sr.'s Obituary
Billy Lawrence O’Neal, Sr. of Kaufman, Texas, was born July 30, 1945, to Edith “Peggy” Gertrude Parker Shook and William “Lee” O’Neal, in Amarillo Texas. He passed away July 25, 2025, five days shy of his 80th birthday. He was diagnosed with CCL (Chronic Lymphocyte Lukemia) in 2016.
He graduated from Knob Noster High School in Knob Noster, Missouri, and entered the work force when moving to Texas following graduation. At 18 years old he felt a call to the gospel ministry and began holding jobs at International Papers, Radio Shack, then as a security guard at hospitals, grocery stores and florists while preaching bi-vocationally in Pentecostal churches in the metroplex.
Billy married Rhea Fitch in 1968 and had four boys: Billy, Jr, Michael, Christopher and James. After their divorce, Billy married Angelica Zarzuela and had a daughter, Jessica. Angie died in 2021.
Billy’s favorite things in life were his collection of Bibles, his pulpit and talking with strangers.
He proudly described himself as a Holy Ghost Preacher and Pastor for over 50 years.
Survivors include his son, Billy O’Neal Jr. and wife Delila; daughter, Jessica Scott and husband Nick; sisters, Debby Burton and husband David, and Lori Gonzales; as well as his grandchildren: Jordan, Brittany, Collin, Dylan, Hunter, Joshua, Ezra and Asher and several extended family members. He was preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Peggy; wife, Angelica O’Neal; sister, Jean Webber; and sons, James Anthony, Michael Wayne and David Christopher.
