Billy Eugene Porter, age 88, of Mansfield, Texas, passed away peacefully on August 17, 2025, surrounded by the love of his family. Born on July 13, 1937, in Dallas, Texas, Billy was the cherished son of Walter “Bud” Porter and Dee Porter.
Billy lived a life full of laughter, adventure, and unwavering devotion to those he loved. His comedic timing was legendary—he could light up any room with a perfectly timed quip or a mischievous grin. Whether on the golf course, at the racetrack, or trying his luck at a casino, Billy embraced life with joy and curiosity. He was a passionate traveler, always eager to explore new places and create unforgettable memories.
Above all, Billy was a family man. He found his greatest happiness in the company of those closest to him. He was preceded in death by his parents Bud and Dee Porter, his brother Donnie Porter, and his first wife Nell Porter.
Billy is survived by his beloved wife Beverly Porter, whom he married on September 27, 2003, in Mansfield, Texas. He is also survived by Beverly’s son Phillip and his husband Doug; his son David Porter and wife Tammy, and their children Cole Porter, Lauren and her husband Brian, and their sons Porter and Graham; his daughter Susan Gingerich and her husband Tom, their son Taylor and his wife Casey, and their son David, who is eagerly awaiting the arrival of a baby sister in December 2025. Billy also leaves behind his sister Judy Fairless and her husband Lon, along with a wide circle of extended family and friends who will miss him dearly.
