Billy G. Posey's Obituary
a deeply loved husband, father and grandfather has gone home. He was born on July 6, 1937 to Henry and Helen Harper Posey in Dallas, Texas and grew up on his grandfather, John H. Posey’s Farm in Florence Hill. He was a member of Calvary Baptist Church. After graduation from Grand Prairie High School, Bill joined the U.S. Air Force and toured Europe and the middle east, developing a love of jazz and chess. His career included the Smith Detective Agency installing commercial burglar alarms and he retired from Texas Instruments after 37 years in 1988. He was respected by his peers and loved by his employees. Bill was a senior net volunteer, teaching computer classes at The Plano Senior Center. His passions included bowling, card games, and playing cards, but most of all, he loved spending time with his family, especially at his cabin at Lake Texoma and on his boat. He taught his children to water ski and introduced his grandchildren to magic tricks and chess. Bill was so meticulous about his lawn and sent so many hours in its care, that his neighbors knew of his illness by his absence outside. He was a great handyman and loved to lend a hand or advice when needed. Bill is survived by his wife, Brenda of 31 years, daughter Sharla Turner, son-in-law, Bryan, daughter Dione Pettegrew, son-in-law Curt, son Michael, Shannon Schooling, daughter Sharmon Moran and two grandchildren Logan and Trace Turner. His brother Howard Posey, and wife Ethel, his brother James Allen and wife Linda, Two brothers in law Larry and Glen Pearson as well as many nieces, nephews, and cousins, who will cherish his memory. After years of his horrific battle with cancer that gradually diminished his beautiful mind, he is at peace. We will all miss you desperately but will keep you in our hearts forever.
