Billy Sam Richardson's Obituary
Billy Sam Richardson, fondly known as Uncle Bill, passed away August 31, 2020, at the age of 86. He was born December 11, 1933, in Center Grove, Texas to Thomas Welch Richardson and Eva Robertson Richardson (Pemberton).
Bill was a Christian man, who loved Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior.
Right out of High School Bill joined the U.S. Airforce and served as an MP in England, Japan and Alaska from 1952 -1956. Following the Air Force, Bill had a host of odd jobs, but spent the last 20 years of his career at Watson Electric as a mail room clerk until his retirement in 2002.
Bill married the love of his life, Florence Mae Wood Richardson, fondly known as Aunt Florence, December 6, 1959, and they had a son, Kenneth Wayne Richardson. Bill met and fell in love with Florence when he was visiting his sister, Doris, in Kalamazoo, Michigan. He swooped her up, married her and transported her to Garland, Texas, where they lived their life of love.
Bill is survived by many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, and son. Bill was the youngest of 7 children, all of which have preceded him in death: his brothers, Charles Alvin Richardson, Wesley Clifton Richardson, Roy L Richardson, and his sisters, Doris Oleta Richardson, Rosemary Richardson Biggerstaff and Betty Ruth Richardson Vest.
Visitation will be held Friday, September 4, 2020 at 9:00 AM in the Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral Service will be held Friday, September 4, 2020 at 10:00 AM in the Memorial Chapel at Restland Funeral Home with a Burial to follow.
