I’m saddened by the loss of Billy before I was able to say goodbye. I met Billy when I was in high school and working for Discount Tire on highway 303. He always scheduled a visit when I was working because I was his tech. I remember the many of times throughout the years stopping by the house to chat and seeing him at shows and the drag strip from time to time. I owe my path in life to Billy, and I truly wish I could have seen him one last time to say, “Thank You”. He talked sense into a young man about following a dream and making something out of myself, experiencing good things in life before throwing it all away. I owe you more than I can express my friend! Rest well, until we meet again.

It hard to find the words when we have lost someone like Billy. I was fortunate enough to live acroos the street from Billy and Rexene for years in Grand Prairie. You couldn't ask for a better neighbor, and friend. I always enjoyed spending time with Billy, across the street. I count Billy as one of my close friends, and always will. He was just a good guy. One that would give ya the shirt off his back or help you with anything he could. He will be missed,,,not forgotten by me.

Billy was a great friend to our family. His love of cars inspired everyone in my family and we'd look forward to the next visit from Billy to Oklahoma City just to see what kind of car he was driving. He would always boast of driving from Dallas to Oklahoma City in 2 hours. He was a great friend and a devoted relative.

Billy, how wonderful it was to know you for 26 years I have. You were a true insperation to me and had a huge part of making me the man I am today. It is true you have passed out of this life but you will live on with me for the rest of my time on earth. Today was a very difficult day to see my second Dad for the last time on earth, but I know that Ted will find you and you guys can look down and watch over us all. Thank you Billy for all that you did for me and my family for all the years. I love you and I am proud to know that we will come together again soon. How do we prepare for such a lost? Eveytime I seen Billy it was at the race track, or at his home wiping down a car. He always had something funny to say that made me laugh. I and my family have been blessed with hs youngest son Andre. I met Andre as a friend we were at the time two single parents. After Andre came in to my life we were no longer single parents. He played step dad better than some of the best dads. I in return gave his son the same. We built a home together for our blended family and Avant was the prefect addition to a great family. Andre has alot of Billy in him with the love for people, always helping someone out with thier cars or whatever. Billy shared a passion my dad and family had for cars. Cars were one of the conversation breakers of my relationsip. Andre bragged about his dad and his racing cars and contest and so on. I loved the times I was able to go to the track and watch Bill allow people the opportunity to admirer his car but, he had his shammy very close (SMILE). Andre had a son already (Eldorado D'Andre Swindle 14) and I have a girl (Derrica,8)and boy(Donavon,10). My kids adore thier step dad it is nothing like having two daddies to truly open thier heart to them. We have one son together (Avant Swindle,4)Billy's youngest grandson. Avant was the prefect addition to our family. He loves to go racing and get mad because, he cannot go down the track in the car. He always tell his uncle Mike he is gonna take his corvette. He loves Cars…like Pawpaw Bill, daddy, and his uncle Mike not to mentionmy daddy. I thank Billy and Carolyn for giving me Andre and the completion to my family. They gave the world four men who support thier kids and are there for them. Rexcene, Diane, Dana my hearts go out to you all and your families. Meeting all of you have also been a deligth and a reflection of what a wonderful legacy Billy was capable of creating.I know what Billy was to you all because, Andre is that for me. No words can feel the empty part that will be physically missing but, he is there and will be watching and protecting over you and your families. Please stay in touch!

I had worked for Grand Prairie about a year when Billy was hired. We were co-workers and we were instantly friends. Through the years, we talked many hours about family and friends. He was a man to be respected an admired. Billy had a presence about him which drew people in; I guess due to the fact he was accepting of just about anyone. His friends became part of his life family and a lot of us considered him part of our life family. There will be a void in my heart until we meet again. My prayers are with his family.
