Billye Ann Schwenn's Obituary
Schwenn, Billye Ann (Mathews) has joined her Savior, Jesus Christ and is now at peace. She was born June 29, 1923, in Denton, Texas and entered into Heaven on September 11, 2010, in Denton County. Billye was a proud graduate of Denton High School, Class of 1940. Billye attended Tarleton State College prior to serving her country as a civilian employee during World War II in Texas and the Northeast. Billye was active in her community volunteering as a Room Mother, Girl Scout Leader, and active supporter in her Church. Billye is being greeted in Heaven by the love of her life, husband Sterling F. Schwenn, and her parents, William and Annie Mathews, nine brothers and sisters, and grandson Stephen C. Hyde. Billye is survived by her older brother, W.A. Mathews and his wife, Opal, in Tyler, Texas. Billye is also survived by “children”, Suzanne Schwenn, Marilyn Hyde (Ben), and Robert Schwenn (Lori), five grandchildren, Scott Goldsberry (Traci), Karen Goldsberry, Sara Schmidt (David), Andrew Schwenn and Ryan Schwenn. Billye is leaving a special legacy with five great grandchildren, William Goldsberry, Emaline Goldsberry, Anna Schmidt, Catherine Schmidt, and Charles Schmidt. Billye treasured her many nieces, nephews, cousins, and three sisters in law, Gina Mathews, Janet Schwenn, and Martha Schwenn. The family would like to thank the staff at the Atria of Carrollton and caregiver Tracy Chidakwa for their wonderful loving care over the last four years. Billye worshipped at Central Lutheran Church in Dallas for over fifty years. Billye took a special interest in doll collecting, but was known for her diligent housekeeping, delicious baking, meticulous sewing, and a passion for gardening. Billye loved bringing her family together for the celebration of family birthdays, and holidays such as Christmas, Easter, and Thanksgiving. Billye was dearly loved and will be deeply missed. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to an Alzheimer’s organization of your choice. The family will receive visitors from 6:00 until 8:00 pm, Thursday, September 16, 2010 at Restland Funeral Home. Funeral service will be held at 2:00 pm, Friday, September 17, 2010 at Central Lutheran Church in Dallas.
