Birdie Sue Hesson's Obituary
Birdie Sue Parr was born April 18, 1934, in Monticello, Texas. She was the fourth child of Cora Mae (Lawrence) and Marvin Dean Parr. A graduate of Mineola High School in 1952, she began working for Southwestern Bell Telephone Company in June 1952 where she began as an editor in the Directory Department. She was promoted to Supervisor in 1965 and retired as second level manager in 2005. Sue met the love of her life, Eddie Lee Hesson, in 1956 and they married August 9, 1956, at Trinity Baptist Church in Dallas. They made their home in Dallas for many years. They had three children: Brenda Kaye, Gary Wayne, and Teri Lyn.
Sue and Eddie moved to Garland 1974 and made New Liberty Baptist their church home. Church family was always Important to Sue, and she made friends easily. Her sweet loving spirit and love for her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ showed through in her demeanor and love for others. She was preceded in death by husband Eddie, daughter Brenda, son Gary, parents Cora Mae and Marvin D. Parr, sister Evelyn Nesbeth Parr, sister Mary Jane Simmons, and brother Winfred Dean Parr, niece Mary Sue Bell, and nephew Travis Lee Simmons. She is survived by daughter Teri Lyn Hesson and sister and brother-in-law Gayle (Parr) and Edwin Ward, as well nieces, nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, and great-grand nieces and nephews as well as a host of much loved life-long friends.
Arrangements are at Restland Memorial Park on Greenville Avenue in Dallas. Viewing will be from 6:00pm to 8:00pm on May 23, 2022 and, the Celebration of Life services will be held in the Wildwood Chapel on May 24, 2022 at 10:00am with Rev Bill Cathe officiating. Interment will follow immediately after the service. Gifts in Sue's memory may be sent to New Liberty Baptist Church, 333 W. Centerville Rd., Garland, TX 75041
