Birttle Ella Furgason's Obituary
In memory of our beloved mother, Birttle Ella (Dolson) Furgason, born in Broadwater, Nebraska on August 15th, 1929, to Clarence Lester Dolson and Wilma Bessie (Cunningham) Dolson. She lived in several states as a child, then her family settled in Colville, WA. Birttle graduated from Colville High School in 1945. She met and later married her husband of 44 years, Loris J. Furgason, on December 30, 1946. In the fall of 1957, they moved to Texas where raised their family.
Birttle is cherished by her six children: Theresa Wood of Mesquite, TX, David Furgason of Paris, TX, Christine Hankins of Mesquite, TX, Deborah Furgason of Mesquite, TX, Ralene Bartlett of Mesquite, TX, Kimberly and James Stringer of Nevada, TX; her sister Wilam Sneed of Azle, TX, and her brother Charles Dolson and wife Earlene Dolson of Boulder City, NV. She has 35 grandchildren, 55 great grandchildren, and 17 great great grandchildren and a host of extended family members and friends.
Birttle had many passions in her lifetime. She had a very close and personal walk with God. She was an avid prayer warrior and a women of great faith. She always spoke of the goodness of God and never missed a chance to spread His word. She loved her family and friends dearly and also has a very strong fondness for vanilla ice cream. She worked outside the home in various clerical positions, but her primary focus was always on her family as a wife, mother and grandmother. She was a very creative person and she expressed that in many ways. She loved to crochet, sew, make wedding flowers and many other types of crafts. In her spare time, she sold various products including Home Interior for a time, and Avon for 17 years. Birttle loved selling Avon. She won multiple awards and accolades over the years, but what she cherished the most was the many friendships she was afforded.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Clarence Lester Dolson and Wilma Bessie (Cunningham) Dolson of Colville, WA; 4 brothers and 5 sisters. Her husband Loris J. Furgason on March 4, 1991 and son Loris J. Furgason, Jr. of Brownwood, TX on February 11, 2021.
The Lord called her home on Friday, August 4, 2023, just 11 days short of her 94th birthday. She was dearly loved by family, friends, and grandchildren. She will be greatly missed by all that knew her.
