Blaine Langdon Nelson's Obituary
Blaine Langdon Nelson was born on March 31, 1926 in Hendricks, MN a son of the late Lewis and Hazel Langdon Nelson and passed away on August 13, 2019 in Frisco. Blaine was married to Joyce Sterling on June 14, 1948 in Algona, Iowa. After proudly serving his country during the Korean Conflict as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy, Blaine was then united in marriage to Sulin Marshall in Las Vegas, Nevada. Blaine was employed by Exxon and during this employment he was involved in the early pioneering of the first generation of computer technology. Blaine absolutely loved sailing and being in and around the water and this love for sailing was instrumental in his achievement of becoming a World Champion of Sunfish Sailing competitions. Later in his retirement he became a very avid golfer as well as tennis. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Neil Nelson and a sister Marjorie Ball.Those left to cherish his loving memory are his wife Sulin Nelson of Frisco, daughters Lori Bohardt and her husband Andy of Kettering, OH and Beth Conway and her husband Timothy of Olathe, CO, son Gary Nelson and his wife Angelia of McKinney as well as 10 grandchildren, 1 great grandson with another great grandchild on the way, his sister Beverly Perkins as well as numerous nieces, nephews and other friends and relatives.Blaine’s family and friends will gather on Thursday, August 15, 2019 at 12:30 PM in the Wildwood Chapel at Restland to celebrate a life well lived.
