Blake Anthony Jones' Obituary
Life and Love Reflections of Blake Anthony Jones
Blake Anthony Jones was born on January 26, 1992, in Mesquite, Texas, to Stephen and Stephanie Jones. He peacefully transitioned from this earthly life on May 26, 2026, leaving behind a legacy of love, faith, and unforgettable memories.
At an early age, Blake accepted Christ as his Savior and was baptized at Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church in Dallas, Texas. His commitment to his faith was evident through his active involvement in church life. From participating in the Youth Department and Sunday School to serving in the Junior Brotherhood, as a Junior Deacon, and on the Youth Usher Board, Blake gave his time and energy wholeheartedly. He also shared his talents through the Spirit Filled Steppers, Steppin’ Thru Eternal Praise Steppers, Guiding Light Choir, and Voices of Praise Choir. Wherever help was needed, Blake could always be found lending a hand.
Blake graduated from Forney High School in 2010, where he proudly played on the football team. His love for sports began early, starting at the age of four when he joined the Dallas Chargers in Pop Warner football, thanks to his big cousin Pam. He later played for the Mesquite Panthers, Williams Middle School in Rockwall, the Rockwall Yellow Jackets, and ultimately the Forney Jackrabbits.
Gifted with a brilliant mind, Blake was known as a “math wizard,” able to solve complex problems in his head with ease and accuracy. His talents extended beyond academics into athletics, where his competitive spirit shined. Though a big man in stature, he was light on his feet and had an incredible ability to shoot three-pointers with precision. He played in the Mesquite Basketball League and made a lasting impact as both a player and a mentor.
Blake was deeply passionate about guiding and inspiring youth. He served as Head Coach for the Royse City Bengals Youth Football Association (ages 11–12) and Assistant Coach (ages 9–10). His love for helping others, especially young people, was one of his greatest gifts.
Family meant everything to Blake. He took pride in bringing loved ones together, organizing gatherings that strengthened bonds and created lasting joy. His greatest pride and joy was his only child, Ta’Liyah Jones, affectionately known as “TT.” She was the light of his life.
Blake was also known for his sense of style. He was a fashionable dresser who loved shoes and maintained an impressive collection of Nikes, both new and collectible. Recently transitioning from vegetarian to pescatarian, he took pride in his health journey and celebrated every milestone, especially when it meant shopping for smaller sized clothes.
Professionally, Blake worked for AutoZone in Terrell before stepping into entrepreneurship. Together with the love of his life, Shereesha Mills, he founded J2 Transit, a business created in honor of his late father, Stephen Jones. Blake and Shereesha shared an enduring love for over 11 years. He had planned to propose during an upcoming family trip to Maui, Hawaii in July.
Blake was preceded in death by his father, Stephen Jones, Maternal Grandparents, Freddie and Theora Cook and Paternal Grandparents, Anderson Jones and Shadie B. Johnson.
He leaves to cherish his memory his loving mother and stepfather, Stephanie and Bobby Stoker; mother to her Sonshine, Sheba Jones; his beloved daughter, Ta’Liyah “TT” Jones; his devoted lifetime partner, Shereesha “Sher” Mills; sisters, Destiny and Kelinda “KK” Jones; brother Eddie Onyango Jones (Leah); five uncles, Stephen Dickerson (Sellah), Allen Dale Stoker (Debbie), Grayling Jones, Bradley Johnson and Jerry Davis (Christine); six aunts, Portia Jones, Hope Brinkley (Carlist), Johana Cooper, Cathleen Spurlock (Toby), Susan Johnson (George) and Sally Johnson; God Brother, Daniel Evans; God Sister, Charnique Dyson; Special Mom, Regena Haynes; Anderson Family Matriarch, Aunt Margaret Taylor (Robert Sr.); Jones Family Matriarch, Aunt Alestine Thompson, Mills/Haynes Family Matriach Aunt Velva Haynes and a host of special aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews and friends, who will forever hold him in their hearts.
Affectionately known by many as “Big Baby” and “Jonesey,” Blake will be remembered for his kindness, his laughter, his generosity, and his unwavering love for family. His life touched many, and his legacy will live on through all who knew and loved him.
“Well done, good and faithful servant.”
