Blanche Jaeckle's Obituary
Blanche Eleanor Bush Jaeckle passed away September 28, 2009. She was born on August 27, 1936, in Kansas City, KS, to Palaemon and Frances Guendling Bush. She attended St. Cecilia Catholic School and Our Lady of Good Council Academy, Dallas, TX. She graduated from the St. Paul School of Nursing in 1957 and worked at St. Paul Hospital in Dallas, Ben Taub Hospital in Houston, Presbyterian Hospital of Dallas, and St John’s Hospital in St Louis, MO, in General Medicine, Neurological Intensive Care, and Surgical Intensive Care. She was a member of St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church. Survivors include her husband, Richard G Jaeckle MD; daughter Judy Jaeckle Zafereo and husband Jason Zafereo; grandsons Noah and Joel Zafereo; sisters, Louise Niermann and Evelyn Grubbs; and numerous nieces and nephews. Blanche will be remembered for her love of family, lifelong friends, children, the Girl Scouts, cats, and music. She will also be remembered for her excellent nursing skills and judgment. Her quick wit, lively humor, and love of laughter endeared her to many. When her memory failed, she could still sing an amazing number of songs. The family thanks her caregivers, especially Sandy Wilson. Visitation will be Friday, October 2, 2009, at Restland Funeral Home 6:00-7:00 p.m. A Rosary will follow at 7:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated Saturday, October 3, 2009, 10:30 a.m. at St. Paul the Apostle Catholic Church, Father David Flori officiating. Memorials may be sent to the Sisters of St. Joseph, 3700 E Lincoln, Wichita, KS, 67218, and the Daughters of Charity, 4330 Olive St., St. Louis, Mo. 36108.
