Bob Hargis' Obituary
Obituary for Robert “Bob” H. Hargis
Robert “Bob” H. Hargis, age 80, passed away on April 5, 2026. He was born on March 12, 1946, in Virginia, Minnesota, to Verna and Hugo Hargis.
Bob spent his early years growing up in Goodlettsville, Tennessee, before eventually settling in Texas, where he lived in his later years. He proudly served his country in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War from 1966 to 1970, an experience that remained a meaningful part of his life.
Bob was known for his warm spirit and simple joys. He cherished spending his winter months in South Padre Island, sharing jokes with anyone willing to listen, and enjoying a cold cerveza. He deeply valued his friends and family and the many memories he created with those close to him.
He held a special place in his heart for the outdoors, especially meandering through the woods of northern Minnesota and walking along the shores of the Pike River—places that brought him peace and happiness throughout his life.
Bob was preceded in death by his parents, Verna and Hugo Hargis. He is lovingly remembered by his extended family and a tight circle of dear friends whose lives he touched with his humor and kindness.
He will be honored with a Military Burial at Sea, and a gathering of friends and family will be held in June to celebrate his life and legacy. Bob will surely be missed.
