Bob G. Meeks' Obituary
MEEKS, BOB G. of Arlington, born September 1, 1928 in Dallas, TX and passed away February 16, 2010. Bob lived his life in service to the Lord, his family and the community. He was a lifelong member of First Presbyterian Church in Dallas where he taught Sunday School and ushered. He worked for 42 years for Lone Star Gas Company where he was Service Superintendent. He was a member of the East Dallas Exchange Club where he enjoyed volunteering to help kids with the Reading is Fun project in Dallas schools, clothing needy school children, and feeding the handicap children during the State Fair. He was devoted to his family and friends and will be greatly missed by all those that knew him. He is survived by his wife Darlena; daughters, Linda Beck & husband Chris, Patricia Shoecraft & husband Chuck, Diana Jarratt & husband John, Terri Byrd & Jimmy Paul; 8 grand-children; Marta and husband David Perkins, James Beck , Dawn Beck, Summer Jarrat, Rissa Jarratt, Marrissa Byrd, Jaci Baxley, and Sara Byrd-Paul. great-grandchildren; Dallas Byrd-Willams, Jenna Baxley and Mikkel John Tate Bjornson. Preceded him in death, his wife Billie Jean, son Steven Byrd & brother Jimmy Meeks. Visitation Friday from 6:30-8:30 pm at Restland Funeral Home. Service 2 pm Saturday at 1st Presbyterian Church Dallas at Harwood & Young. Interment at Restland Cemetery. Memorial contributions to 1st Presbyterian Church Dallas or East Dallas Exchange Club, P. O Box 720297, Dallas, TX 75372. He was dearly loved and will be greatly missed.
