Bobbi June Smith's Obituary
It is with deep sorrow and much love that we mourn the passing of Bobbi June Smith who departed this life on August 11th, 2025, in Watauga, Texas, at the age of 73.
Bobbi was a strong and commanding firecracker of a woman, the youngest of seven kids, who grew up in Graham, Texas where she attended Graham High School, home of the Steers. After growing up she let home and eventually settled in Dallas, Texas.
She was an entrepreneur by heart. She and her sister and best friend, Nita, even started a home cleaning service and while that venture did not last long, other opportunities followed including her interest in owning a local bar where friends and patrons came together at the end of the day to share drinks and stories. Later in her years, with all the love she had for people and her love for God, she took on the work of serving the elderly in need of home care. She met and befriended many people along the way and grew close to families she served. That is where she met her very special friends Kim and Ted whose mother she served, and who to this day care for her deeply.
Bobbi met her beloved husband, Charlie O’Neal in Dallas, Texas. They were the loves of each other’s lives and remained married until his passing 16 years ago, in 2009. Today she will be laid to rest next to him for eternity.
Bobbi is survived by one sister, Nita Litton, two children, Donavan Bevers and Kandra Morris along with her husband John, her grandchildren, Hallie, Brittany, John and Vincent, her great-grandkids as well as a number of nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. The list is long.
Bobbi had great love for her furry friends, treating each and every one like a family member. She and her sister, Nita, would take their latest little pup, Isabella to Walmart and other places garnering all kinds of precious attention. People loved her and she loved them. She once said if she was a millionaire she would buy a big place and rescue all the pets in shelters. The last four pups she had were cremated and insisted on them being buried with her today! However, the funeral home would not allow it due to some law so they remain with her sister, Nita, but will be forever be bonded with her in spirit.
Everyone who knew Bobbi knew how much she loved her word find books and would complete a book every day. She also loved going to Walmart and buying tons of food they did not need and having lunch with her sister. The two always laughed at how much food they would buy and didn’t have a place to put it once they got home. It was a running joke that provided laughter.
Bobbi will be dearly missed by many. We love you, Bobbi, and will see you on the other side when God calls us home.
The ceremony will take place at Restland Funeral Home, in Dallas Texas, on Tuesday, August 19, 2025. Viewing will be from 12p-2:30pm and the graveside service will take place at 3pm.
The service will be officiated by Sam Davila
