Bobbie Katherine Battle's Obituary
On Saturday, November 27, 2021, Bobbie Katherine Battle, passed away at the age of 94.
Bobbie was born on February 11, 1927, in Lockhart, Texas to Aleck Jones and Euveda Humphrey. She later moved to Dallas, where she met her Booker T Washington High School sweetheart, Homer Lee Moore Sr. Bobbie was devoted to God, family and her dear friends. She taught her children, Homer Jr, Frances and Deborah the true meaning of hard work, determination and a humble heart. She lived a life full of grace, kindness and generosity.
Bobbie was committed to her career as a Registered Nurse. Her medical knowledge remained perfectly intact until her last breath. She was prepared for every appointment, lab test and prescription. She never left the doctor’s office without questioning their conclusions. She emphasized the importance of researching decisions made regarding your own health. These were some of the life lessons she passed to her children and grandchildren.
Bobbie surrendered her life to Christ at an early age. She and her devoted husband, Homer Sr, were active members of Hamilton Park Methodist Church, in Dallas. Before the current brick and mortar location, service was held at various homes in their Hamilton Park neighborhood.
Bobbie is preceded in death by her parents, children; Homer Lee Moore Jr, Deborah Louise Moore and a baby girl who forever lived in her heart. Also preceded by sisters, Charlie Mae and Carolyn; first husband, Homer Lee Moore Sr and second husband, Cornelius Battle.
Bobbie is survived by her daughter, Frances Euveda Strickland, Son-in-law; Charles Strickland, Six precious grandchildren; Homer Lee Moore III, Zackary Moore, Carlos Moore, Marcus Strickland, Cicely Strickland Frizell, Kristen Strickland, nephews; Donnie Reeves, Freddie Reeves and a host of Great Grandchildren and Great-Great Grandchildren.
