Bobbie Cisco Taylor's Obituary
TAYLOR, BOBBIE CISCO Age 89, of Irving, Texas passed away Wednesday, October 19, 2011 at Sandy Lake Care Center in Coppell, Texas. Bob was born August 14, 1922 in Corsicana, Texas to John F. and Jenette Adams Taylor, and spent most of his life in Corsicana. He and his wife moved to Irving, Texas 3 years ago into a Senior Retirement Community, but Corsicana was always home to him. He served his country proudly during World War II from November 10, 1942 until November 26, 1945, serving 2 1/2 years in the South Pacific as a Corporal Military Policeman in the 5th Airforce. He served in the Battles of New Guinea, South Phillippines (Liberation) and Luzon. Bob’s decorations as a soldier were Asiatic-Pacific Campaign Medal with 3 bronze stars, Philippine Liberation Ribbon, Victory Ribbon and 4 overseas Service Bars. After his Honorable Discharge from the service, he returned to Corsicana. He met Dorothy Jeane Wright and they were married September 28, 1946. They were able to celebrate 65 special years together and had the privilege of raising 3 wonderful Christian daughters that he loved dearly. Bob was a journeyman carpenter and worked out of Whiteselle Lumber Yard in Corsicana for 6 years. In 1952 he went to work for Mobil Pipeline. In 1954 he moved to Kermit, Texas working for Mobil there until 1974 when he returned to Corsicana retiring in 1984 after 32 years with Mobil. After his years of retirement, many good times were spent with family, fishing trips and traveling. Bob was a member of First Baptist Church in Corsicana. He has joined his family that precede him in death, his parents, 5 sisters and brothers-in-law, 2 brothers and one sister-in-law, Bill, his brother, was his special twin, and one son-in-law, Delbert Duncan. He is survived by his wife, Dot, 3 daughters, 2 sons-in-law, Cathey and Ron Davidson, Judy Bob Duncan all of Irving, Texas, Connie and Roddy Cummins of Sunnyvale, Texas. He is also survived by a sister-in-law, Pat Taylor and many nieces and nephews. Bob was a special “Papa” to 6 granddaughters and 1 grandson and was “Papa Bob” to 8 great grandchildren. Burial will take place at 10:45am, Monday, October 24th at DFW National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to First Baptist Church-Building Fund, 510 W. Collin in Corsicana.
