Bobby Ray Baker's Obituary
BAKER, BOBBY RAY was born March 1, 1928 in Rotan, Texas and passed away October 14, 2011 in Mesquite, Texas. He is preceded in death by his parents, Eugene G. and Bertie Edgar Baker; and his beloved wife of 58 years, Frances Eva Baker. Bobby Raye is survived by sons, Stephen Baker (Carol), Ralph Baker, Bradley Baker (Holly); stepsons, Chuck Barnes (Lois), Mike Barnes; grandchildren, Allison Vieger (Taylor), Bryan Baker (Hilary), Clark Baker, Gregory Baker, Amanda Baker, and Jessica Baker; and great grandchild, Luke Austin Baker. Bobby Ray attended UTA and was a member of the US Army. Bob started in the construction business in 1948 and eventually founded Baker Drywall and Triangle Plastering in 1974. He spent 60 years in the wall and ceiling industry. He was also involved in thoroughbred breeding and racing. He was a loving husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather and was greatly admired as a leader in his industry. Bobby Ray was a member of Centerpoint Church in Mesquite. The Baker family would like to thank one of Bob’s favorites, his “adopted” daughter, Deborah Brocker, for the loving care she gave him over the years. A memorial service will be held at 10:00am, Tuesday, October 18th at Restland Memorial Chapel.
