Bobby Jo Hodkinson Greenhaw's Obituary
Bobby Jo Hodkinson Greenhaw, a resident of Richardson, Texas died peacefully on August 12, 2011. She was born on September 9 , 1930 in Wilmer, Texas to Robert O. and Stella Mae Hodkinson. She is preceded in death by her husband James Albert Greenhaw and grandson Thomas Ashley Dodson. She is survived by her children, Jim and Debby Greenhaw( McKinney, TX), Judy and Barry Dodson (Irving, TX) and Debbie and Doug Bunch (Richardson, TX). Bobby had two beloved grandchildren, Hayley Jones and James Greenhaw and step-grandchildren Amanda Petersen and Jason and Brian Bunch. Bobby graduated from Wilmer Hutchins High School in 1948 and was proud to stay in touch with many of her graduating classmates and count them as close friends for her entire life. After the death of her husband James, in 1984, Bobby remained active in the Retired Police Officers & Firefighters Association of Dallas and the Young at Heart lunch group. Her husband James served as a Dallas police officer for 30 years (1954-1984). Her friendship with this close police family was an important part of her life. Bobby and James moved with their three children to Terrell, Texas in 1961. She resided in the home that they built and on Hwy. 34 in Terrell until 1997. Bobby was a fiercely independent woman. After working as an accountant at the Terrell State Hospital, Bobby began her own business, opening Flowerfield’s Florist in 1982. She ran the business independently and prospered offering both floral and wedding services. After retiring, Bobby moved to Richardson to be closer to her children and grandchildren. She rarely missed any milestone in the lives of her children or grandchildren. She loved traveling with her family and friends. She was an accomplished quilter, avid reader and loved watching the Cowboys, Rangers and Mavericks. She also loved chocolates and her little dog, Mr. Pickles. Her family wants to invite all of her family and friends to help celebrate her life at services to be held at Restland Wildwood Chapel on, Wednesday, August 17th at 10:00 a.m. Visitation will be 1 hour prior, 9-10 a.m., in the Chapel. Interment will follow at Restland Memorial Park.
