Bobby Joe McGowan, 87, born September 23, 1929 in Miller Grove, Texas, passed away Monday, February 20, 2017 in Plano, Texas. Bobby is preceded in death by his parents Everett and Verna McGowan, two sisters and one brother. Bobby is survived by his loving wife of 67 years Mary McGowan, daughters: Martha Shipley, Donna Adams and Beth Chillura, his sons-in-law, 6 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren. Bobby was a loving, faithful and dedicated husband, father and grandfather, he will be missed by all who knew and loved him. Bobby served his country in the United States Marine Corps, during World War II. After his service to his country, Bobby and Mary raised their three daughters. Bobby had a successful career as an automobile mechanic. Funeral Service will be held Friday February 24, 2017 at Restland Funeral Home, Memorial Chapel at 2:30 p.m.. Visitation will be at Restland Funeral Home Thursday February 23, 2017 from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m.. Burial will follow the funeral service at Restland Memorial Park, Garden of Ascension. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to Restland Funeral Home and Memorial Park, 13005 Greenville Avenue, at Restland Road, Dallas, TX 75243.
