Bobby Jack Stickley's Obituary
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Bobby “Bob” Jack Stickley of Garland, Texas, who departed this life on April 11, 2025, from Richardson, Texas, at the age of 88. Born on August 17, 1936, in Galveston, Texas, Bobby lived a life rich in love, family, and simple joys.
Bobby was the kind of man who left a lasting impression without ever needing to raise his voice. With an easygoing personality, he was a steady presence to all who knew him. In his younger years, Bobby proudly embraced his roots as a true Texas cowboy and helped run the family’s furniture store - a business built on hard work and the value of a handshake.
Later in life, Bobby found great joy in cultivating his garden and keeping his yard in pristine condition - always the best on the block. Whether he was planting vegetables, trimming hedges, or just enjoying the sunshine, he found peace in the outdoors and pride in the beauty he nurtured.
Bobby was a devoted family man who shared 63 wonderful years of marriage with his beloved wife, Lavern (Symank) Stickley. Together, they created a home filled with laughter, love, and countless memories. He was a proud father to their daughter, Kristi Kaiser, and a doting grandfather. He especially treasured the many road trips he and Lavern took to Wisconsin to visit Kristi, her husband Matt, and their son Jacob. Those visits were the highlight of his year.
Bobby also loved gathering with extended family for celebrations across Texas. He served his country honorably in the United States Navy. Bobby’s legacy is one of quiet strength, devotion, and the kind of love that never needed to be spoken to be felt. He will be deeply missed by his family, friends, and all who had the honor of knowing him.
A memorial service to celebrate Bobby’s life will be held at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, April 23, 2025, in the Wildwood Chapel at Restland Funeral Home, 13005 Greenville Ave, Dallas, TX 75243. The U.S. Navy Honor Guard will be present to render military honors in remembrance of Bobby’s service.
